click here to find out more about SueLupron is a medication that is given as a shot to shrink uterine fibroids. This is a regimen that physicians prescribe to control endometriosis.

It is similar to a chemical produced in our brains that prevents the release of the hormones FSH (follocular stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone).

When  these hormones are suppressed the ovaries are not
stimulated ; this stops estrogen and progesterone production. In this way Lupron brings on a temporary menopausal state.  Once deprived of estrogen, which can make fibroids in crease in size, the fibroids shrink as much as
50% in 3 months.

Endometriosis & HRT
qa.gif (1527 bytes)Question:
I am 38 and have been diagnosed with severe endometriosis.  I had laser surgery 5 years ago and am considering a hysterectomy.  My question is this: In your opinion is taking oral or transdermal progesterone effective  in inhibiting growth of endometriosis in anyway?  Since endometriosis is fueled by estrogen, some feel that progesterone could counterbalance this overabundance of estrogen. What do you think?
