Babe Pig in the
City is a delightful sequel to the hit movie Babe. This movie begins
where Babe left off. It all starts when Mr. Hoggit comes home after the sheep dog contest, where people line up to see Babe. All was well on the
Hoggits farm until Mr. Hoggit went to fix the water pump. Babe wanted to help and
fell into the well. Sadly, Mr.Hoggit was in the well when Babe fell in. Babe
severely injured Mr. Hoggit with his leap. Mr. Hoggit couldnt do any farm work, so
Mrs. Hoggit had to do everything. One day, two men from the bank came to the farm. With all the fan mail the Hoggits received, the bills were unnoticed and were not paid. Another dilemma was Mrs. Hoggit couldnt pay the bills because she wasnt selling any vegetables to make money. The bank was going to sell the farm. Mrs. Hoggit had to bring Babe to a show to make extra money in an effort to pay the bills. When Mrs. Hoggit got off the plane at the stop over, the drug-sniffing dog found Babe in the luggage and barked. The humans thought that Babe had drugs in him. The people at the airport checked Mrs. Hoggit and Babe. By the time they are released they have missed their flight. They are stranded in the city and have to stay there for the night. All the adventure begins in the hotel where Mrs. Hoggit and Babe stayed in. To their surprise, its all filled with lots of animals! I wont spoil the ending; its much more fun seeing it for yourself. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I liked it because it had an entertaining story line and, of course, the talking animals. Actually, I prefer Babe Pig in the City to the original movie Babe. My favorite character was the little Jack Russell terrier, who got around on wheels. I liked him because he acted the same way as my Jack Russell Terrier, Wishbone. I wouldnt take little children (ages 2-5 are considered little) to this movie because it has some tension in it, and that might scare them. This is a great movie that kids and adults will enjoy. 1-8-99 |
