Buddy Love in West
Virginia
These pictures and stories are great. I too have just acquired a basset named Buddy
Love and he is truly one of the best dogs that I have ever had. He sounds a lot like the
other bassets on your webpage in that he loves to have his picture taken.

This is
FABULOUS!!!
From: Carolyn
My mother and I have six rescued bassets
between us... three of them came from the Alabama rescue group... one of my babies is
"Bug", the star!!! She has a page at their web site, chronicling her stage debut
as Crab in Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona... Buggy is blind, having lost both eyes
to glaucoma. What an inspiration this brave girl has been!!! Thank you for calling
attention to this amazing breed, and the people who rescue them!!!
sincerely, Lynn toal and pack
Hoover really
cleans up!
This
one is from Edith
who says, "The pics on your site are awesome. I feel the same way about my most
stubborn baby, Hoover. He is a four-year-old we adopted about two years ago and we love
him so very much.
His favorite past time is sleeping (surprise!), and he
loves to think he is a lap dog. He is the best four legged addition our family has ever
had."

The Secret
World of the Basset Hound
by Evamarie Spataro

Now you are ready to step into the secret world of the Basset. The
Basset Hound was bred in France at around the 1500s. The reason they are called
"Basset" is derived from the French word "bas set ", which means
low-set. So, in English, Basset Hound really means Low-set Hound. See more about this
hound along with pictures sent in by our PetCorner members. Find out more and join our

Emmas Peanut Butter Biscotti
by Emma Spataro
I just love baking Biscotti
in the kitchen! Of course Eva has to help me open the refrigerator and turn the knobs on
the stove. Anyway, I thought this recipe is really tasty and is great for a midnight
snack!

An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet

by Barbara Wicklund

An excellent beginners book on Basset Hounds and dog care Barbara
Wicklund's Book on The Basset Hound : An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet (Owner's
Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet Series), is an excellent beginners guide to Basset Hound
ownership and general dog care. The text is very informative and even provides the reader
with information on dog training, pet therapy and more. The pictures are wonderful and old
and young alike can learn from what is presented throughout. I highly recommend it for new
basset hound owners and especially children who want to take more of a responsibility with
the family pet. |
